Behind The Lens

Regarded as one of the natural wonders of the world the great migration is the ongoing journey of over one million wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Masai Mara in Kenya. The migration in 2019 so far has seen mixtures of greatly dispersed herds as well as mammoth crossing.

Ever since the first time I witnessed it, on a camping trip to the Masai Mara with some friends in 2012, it has remained one of the harder events to photograph due to the sheer mass of wildlife on the move. At the time of writing (August 2019) our camp in the Masai Mara is surrounded by these remarkable animals all following the seasonal rains.
